About the Role

At Techdome, architecture means ownership. As a Software Architect, you’ll design scalable systems, stay close to the code, and own architectural decisions through production. You’ll help set the technical standards for an 80+ engineer studio working across healthcare, fintech, AI, and SaaS products.

What You'll Do

  • Own end-to-end architecture, including system design, APIs, data models, security, scalability, observability, and cost.
  • Design secure systems involving PHI, healthcare data, and payment workflows.
  • Architect solutions using MERN (MongoDB, Express, React, Node.js) and modern cloud infrastructure.
  • Work with AWS/GCP/Azure, Kubernetes, CI/CD, IaC, networking, and secrets management.
  • Drive key decisions around microservices, event-driven architecture, integrations, and build vs. buy.
  • Define engineering standards, reference architectures, and reusable patterns.
  • Stay hands-on with code and participate in design reviews, PR reviews, and technical discussions.
  • Mentor senior engineers and help develop future technical leaders.

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of production software engineering experience with strong system design/architecture ownership.
  • Strong hands-on Node.js and React experience; MERN preferred.
  • Strong cloud architecture experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Experience with healthcare, payments, fintech, banking, insurance, or other security-critical systems.
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems, APIs, databases, scalability, and reliability.
  • Excellent communication and the ability to explain and defend technical decisions.

Bonus Points

  • HIPAA/PHI or PCI-DSS experience.
  • Stripe, Braintree, tokenization, or payment systems experience.
  • Event-driven architecture, microservices, and high-availability systems.
  • SaaS, consulting, or venture-studio experience.
  • Experience with Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or other AI-assisted development tools.
